Description:
This mural was commissioned for the high school section of a private educational complex in Tehran. The client requested the inclusion of Islamic calligraphy as a central element. While this reflected the school administration’s ideological preferences, my approach was to balance these requirements with vibrant Iranian motifs, diverse visual forms, and layered painting techniques. The intention was to create an engaging and visually tolerable environment for students, where calligraphy and design worked together to soften the weight of the ideological emphasis.
Executed with repeated stencils, traditional Iranian decorative motifs, and calligraphy, the mural was completed over five days. The work remained on the school’s walls for more than five years, contributing to the character of the educational space.
