High School Mural – Private Girls’ School in Tehran
Date: September 2012 (Shahrivar 1391)
Duration: 10 days
Medium: Plastic paint on cement wall
Location: Tehran, Iran
Client: Private girls’ high school
This project was created for a private girls’ high school in Tehran. The mural was a collaborative work with my father and brother: the inscriptions —requested by the school administration— were directly handwritten by my father, while the rest of the visual elements were ideated and painted together.
The theme centered around fantasy and sea-inspired illustrations, designed to spark imagination and bring color into the everyday atmosphere of the school. Despite the ideological requirements imposed by the administration that necessitated certain inscriptions, we worked to balance these elements with engaging visuals and playful details.
The mural was warmly received by both students and parents, and it remained on the school walls for many years. Personally, this project is among my favorite works in my entire mural career, precisely because it combined collaboration, creativity, and resilience against artistic limitations often present in school environments in Iran.
