Exterior & Entrance Columns Mural – Girls’ High School in Tehran

Date: September 2018 (Shahrivar 1397)
Duration: 7 days
Medium: Multi-layer plastic paint on cement walls
Location: Tehran, Iran
Client: Private girls’ high school

This project marked my first official and fully independent mural commission, making it a very personal milestone in my career. I was responsible for both the design and project management, overseeing the entire creative process from concept to execution.

The commission included painting the exterior walls as well as the two entrance columns of the school building. Despite the many restrictions faced when creating murals in Iran—especially within school environments—I aimed to deliver a vibrant, visually engaging result that balanced the school’s requests with artistic expression.

Some inscriptions, requested by the school administration, were executed in calligraphy by my father, while my brother also collaborated with me during the execution phase.

Working in a public space also added a unique dimension to this project. Passersby often stopped to watch, offering encouragement and positive feedback throughout the process. Their excitement and appreciation made the experience even more rewarding, turning the act of painting into a shared moment with the community.

In the images provided, you can see selected parts of this project, offering a glimpse into how the mural transformed the school’s facade.
